Math and Science Day
Test Kitchen Education Foundation has dedicated every Monday for any area student who seeks extra help for Math, Science or any other subject. TKEF has recruited very passionate teachers who not only help students with difficult subjects, but they also mentor students in reaching their goals.
When students complete their school work assignments, they are welcome to participate in preparing meals with Elliott Test Kitchen talented chefs. TKEF believes that students need help, not only when they are struggling, but also praise when they excel. TKEF exists to celebrate education and great food.
This school year 2017/18, the Elliott Test Kitchen will offer its first Robotics session for middle school aged students. Students will begin by learning to code in Scratch. As students progress in their coding skills, several different brands of robotic components will be introduced to students in weekly challenges. Students will problem-solve by writing codes necessary to create various robotic movements. Mrs. Puga and Mrs. Bentler, both teacher librarians for the Fort Madison Community School District will be the facilitators. This is a great opportunity for students to gain foundation level coding skills and apply those skills in a fun, competitive way.
This program is offered to students on Mondays from 3:30 until 5:30 pm and followed by a great dinner prepared by participating students. The program runs from September 18th through November 27th.
